Is it enough to record just one body spot to draw a conclusion from it?

When using Stethophone Pro, it is best to record more than one or two spots to provide your healthcare professional with all the information necessary for a diagnosis. For example, when a mechanic examines your car engine, they don’t check only one cylinder out of four, six, or more. Likewise, when you create a heart examination using Stethophone Pro, ideally you should record all the body spots available in the application. Each examination allows you to record different body spots – so record all of them. There are eight such spots for heart analysis in an examination.

The human heart is an organ with a rather complex anatomical structure. It has four chambers and four valves that, working together, create unique sounds. You can hear these sounds slightly differently in certain body spots, and there are certain body areas where you can hear particular anatomical structures of the heart better.

Traditionally, in medicine, we distinguish several spots that are most meaningful for diagnosing almost all heart diseases. All of them are present in our application. So, to be sure that you have recorded all the information necessary for a diagnosis and taken full advantage of it to receive an accurate diagnosis, record chest sounds in all spots you see in the Stethophone Pro interface.

Regarding lungs, it is just as important to record all body spots. Specific symptoms, for example, caused by pneumonia, can be detectable only in particular areas of your lungs. So, all body spots are equally significant, and if you don’t record all of them, the doctor could miss the symptoms.

Besides, recording from all body spots allows for a comprehensive understanding of how your heart and lungs work at a certain time. This data can then be used for comparison with future examinations and assessment of disease dynamics.

It’s important to note that symptoms of heart or lung diseases often manifest outside of healthcare professional’s office. Stethophone Pro allows you to create examinations and record chest sounds when you feel unwell and symptoms emerge, at any time of day and night, to provide evidence to a healthcare professional, even if the symptom has already passed. The data collected will be much more convincing and will help a healthcare professional make an accurate diagnosis if the examination includes records from all body spots.
